ABSTRACT

The Consultation studied the allocation of fisheries and related resources between commercial, recreational and other uses. Five panels on international review, best use, methodology, conflicts and recommendations reviewed the subject matter and prepared reports. The Consultation adopted nine recommendations on data and information, continuation of international dialogue, research and planning, protection of the aquatic system, streamflow and streambed manipulation, conflicts with other recreational uses, the Atlantic salmon and the need for an allocation policy.
