E-nugget n. 7 – Water Use Efficiency

The Land and Water Division is organizing an e-nugget training on Water Use Efficiency. The event will present the main elements of agricultural water use efficiency and related strategies to increase water performance for the improvement of water and food security and moving towards the achievement of SDG6. The training is directed to selected trainees from relevant ministries in Libya, Mali and Niger.

The event, organized by FAO Land and Water Division with the collaboration of CIHEAM-Bari, will focus on:

• Principles of performance assessment of pressurized irrigation systems (MASSPRESS approach);
• Rapid Appraisal Procedure (RAP): Physical performance assessment for pressurized irrigation systems;
• Mapping the behavior of pressurized irrigation systems;
• Hydraulic performance assessment for pressurized irrigation systems.

The training will be delivered by Éva Pék and Waqas Ahmad,  (FAO Land and Water Officer) and Nicola Lamaddalena, Bilal Derardja and Abdelouhaid Fouial (CIHEAM-Bari).

The e-nugget will be provided in English with French subtitles.
