09/07/2024 - 11/07/2024

FAO ECTAD Asia-Pacific Communication Workshop

Since the establishment in 2005, the FAO Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) in Asia and the Pacific region has been instrumental in assisting FAO Member Nations across Asia and the Pacific in addressing transboundary animal health crises, including global health threats such as zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance. The year 2023 marks a significant milestone as the FAO ECTAD team has expanded to include 13 country teams in the Asia-Pacific region.

Effective communication is recognized as a cornerstone for the success of the FAO ECTAD initiatives. Over 15 years, with support from various resource partners, FAO ECTAD’s country offices have underscored the need for enhanced visibility to amplify their work. This workshop is designed to refine FAO ECTAD’s communication strategy and harmonize efforts, thus enhancing the outreach and overall impact of the FAO ECTAD programme. By strengthening a collaborative environment, the workshop seeks to create a forum where participants can share insights, address challenges and collectively contribute to improving communication strategy within the FAO ECTAD framework.
