Extra-budgetary funds from external donors enable FAO GLOBEFISH to support additional activities, expand its geographical coverage and draw on specialized expertise on a range of relevant issues.

FAO GLOBEFISH is able to provide the latest coverage of global seafood market developments and trends thanks to its close contact with the fishing industry, mainly through the network of correspondents, a network initiated in 1985, consisting of about 50 companies from the private sector, participating in a monthly exchange of information with GLOBEFISH.
