Countries, such as Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, have already implemented strategies to facilitate the green transformation of agrifood systems.
As a guiding principle for conducting the current assessment the agrifood system approach is used. Agrifood system approach aimed at contributing to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems, in line with the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031 and under the so-called “four betters” – better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life – while leaving no one behind.
Below are key legal and policy frameworks supporting this transformation.
In Armenia, there are strategies and policies addressing Green Agriculture, which we have reviewed using the agrifood system approach as our guiding principle, to bolster the efficiency, inclusivity, resilience, and sustainability of agrifood systems, in accordance with the FAO Strategic Framework.
It emphasizes the pursuit of "Four Betters": improved production, enhanced nutrition, a healthier environment, and overall better livelihoods, prioritizing inclusivity for all.
