Classifying Policies and Legislation

 

The Data Lab uses text mining techniques for the analysis of policy documents related to food and agriculture to summarise and find commonalities across country programmes to support policy making, and provides methods to automatise the classification of legislation and policy texts.

Enriching FAOLEX

FAOLEX is an up-to-date database containing national policies and bilateral agreements concerning food, agriculture, and natural resources management, drawn from more than 200 countries and originating in over 40 languages. The Data Lab created a tool based on machine learning methods to automatically classify and qualify new documents in FAOLEX.
