FAO's Data Lab

The UN Food Systems Summit (FSS), held during the UN General Assembly in September 2021, set the stage for global agrifood systems transformation to achieve the SDGs. During the Summit, 1,643 country dialogues were reported with more than 109,000 participants resulting in more than 117 National Pathways, which aim was to define the agri-food system transformations needed at the country level. The Data Lab used text mining tools to extract, summarize, organize, and categorize information on effective policy interventions that were proposed in these transformation pathways, with the aim to highlight the current priorities that countries have defined to be the pillars of their food systems transformation and find commonalities across country programs.
