Representatives from government, academia, development organizations, researchers, traders, and exporters converged in Dhaka on December 21 to chart the future of Bangladesh's jackfruit sector. Facilitated by FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Annual Meeting under the FAO One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) Initiative was held at Hotel Le Meridien, Dhaka aiming to strengthen the jackfruit value chain.

Representatives from the government, academia, development organizations, researchers, traders, and exporters gathered in Cairo on 20 December to discuss the progress and priorities for the date palm sector in Egypt. The national annual meeting for the implementation of the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative in Egypt, was organized by FAO, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.

Representatives from more than 50 countries convened virtually for the 2023 Annual Meeting of the FAO OCOP initiative on 18 December 2023. The main objectives of the OCOP Annual Meeting were to review the key outputs and achievements of the OCOP implementation globally and identify the key priorities and next steps for the initiative.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in partnership with Albania’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, have recently launched in Albania the FAO One Country, One Priority Product (OCOP) programme aimed at transforming agrifood systems. Through establishing sustainable chestnut value chains, the project in Albania will foster economic growth and enable community empowerment in the pilot region of northern Tropoja.

Türkiye has taken a major step forward to promote fig as its special agricultural product under the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative of FAO. The national launch event took place in the Fig Research Institute in Aydın, Türkiye on 7-8 December, jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the FAO Country Office in Türkiye.
