FAO Regional Office for Europa and Central Asia is looking to identify experts to contribute to the work on Green Agriculture and related policies, practices, and innovative solutions. The experts will contribute to analyzing, validating information, and share good practices, and policies as technical advisors.

The brochure provides an introduction to the Regional Technical Platform on Green Agriculture, which is a digital, user-friendly, open, intraregional and interregional gateway for sharing information. It is a knowledge repository that facilitates connections among expert networks regarding various technical areas related to green agriculture. The brochure outlines the main features of the RTP and provides guidance on getting involved.

Following the International Day for Biological Diversity, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) convened relevant actors today to discuss how to further mainstream biodiversity into the food and agriculture sectors in Europe and Central Asia. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests in 2012 to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests. The theme for each International Day of Forests is chosen by the Collaborative Partnership on Forests. The theme for 2023 is “Forests and health,” with the slogan “Healthy forests for healthy people.”

A new, long-awaited plan of action through 2030 has been approved by the Fifteenth Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, which took place in December 2022 in Montreal, Canada. Around 16 000 participants attended the conference, representing nearly 200 governments, United Nations and international organizations, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, non-governmental organizations, academia, and the private sector.
