YUNGA Energy Challenge Badge Bioenergy Supplement

GBEP has collaborated with the Youth and United Nations Global Alliance (YUNGA) to produce a Bioenergy Supplement to the YUNGA Energy Challenge Badge. As part of the Energy Challenge Badge, young people can now learn specifically about bioenergy: how we produce and use it, and how we can make sure it is sustainable.

This booklet can be used on its own or in combination with the Energy Challenge Badge to create a tailored curriculum on energy and bioenergy. The Badge is suitable for young people aged 5-16.

World Food Forum Energy Lab

23 February 2022

The Energy Lab, held over Zoom with two youth groups from UAE and Pakistan, introduced the basic facts about energy and explored how we can produce and use renewable energy in a better way for people and the planet. The youth, aged 10-13 years, learned about the different types of renewable energy and how their use differs from country to country. The interactive activities during the Lab allowed students to investigate the actions we can take to be more sustainable and tackle climate change through our everyday choices.
