LTR RESEARCH STATIONS

Three main research stations were either constructed (in Bujumbura) and/or extensively rehabilitated (in Kigoma and in Mpulungu).

Detailed specifics are available for the following stations:

LTR SUB-STATIONS

A total of six research sub-stations were established in mid-1993 as follows: in Karonda (Burundi), Kipili (Tanzania), Nsumbu (Zambia) and in Moba, Kalemie, and Uvira (all in D.R. Congo) [see map]. All of these were operational during the entire LTR Scientific Sampling Programme (SSP) i.e. June 1993-July 1996. Each was staffed by small teams of one to three national scientists/technicians responsible for the collection of primary data in hydrodynamics, fish biology, and fish statistics.
